It’s snowing on our blog, but sadly not outside, where did the wintry weather and hopes of a white Christmas go?
The University and Student Support Centre seem to get quieter each day and makes us all wish we were students again for the long holidays and time to catch up with friends and family. The Outreach Team all finish at different times for Christmas due to annual leave and toil. Nicola will be the only one on Friday so fingers crossed it goes quickly for her; perhaps she’ll get to go home early as a nice Christmas surprise?!!
Fresher’s week seems like a long time ago; we’re in to October with the shops beginning to prepare for Christmas already!
From the 17th September as all the new students started one of the most exciting weeks of their University life, the Outreach Team were busy all week helping the Student Administration department with enrolment of all students. The process this year was different with members of staff posted in twos all over the campus behind enrolment stands ready with two scanners to enrol people in less than a minute! Very high tech, easy as one, two, three…..we hoped!!!
On Saturday Emma, Matt and I attended our second University of Lincoln Open Day. We were in charge of the Student Support stand as well as the Student Finance presentations. The last Open Day we took part in was on a Wednesday, it was busy but not as busy as a Saturday!!!Continue reading
Here’s a quick mini blog to say HELLO The Outreach Team is alive but we are super busy at the moment. It’s a really hectic time for the Higher Education world at the moment, from the end of August until the end of October…possibly November we will be in and out of the office working on different projects all of which revolve around the new academic year starting. Continue reading
Good afternoon world!
Here’s a brief little insight into our hot and sweaty (yuck) afternoon…
This afternoon the Outreach Team played a part in the Student Funding Team’s archiving! This happens once a year and it normally takes one person a whole day of mind-numbing work to get it done. So ‘tadaaaaar’ the Outreach Team (minus Hannah) helped out and it only took about an hour and a half! Continue reading
So, Olympic fever has taken over the entire country and I for one am completely obsessed. What an amazing couple of weeks! I want everyone to be this proud of ‘GB‘ all the time, let’s hope it lasts!
During the day when I’m not glued to the telly I have been busy busy in the Student Support Centre & the Marketing office. As you all know, Hannah is currently working in the Admissions department, also, Matt is now on holiday and Nic has just returned from hers, so the team has been a bit disjointed. However, Nic and I are really excited to have Hannah back next week after she finishes her 4 week project with Admissions – we love working together as a team and have missed her lots. Hello blogging world, I have returned from Northern Spain and it appears the sun has finally followed me back to the flat lands of Lincolnshire.
As you know I am a Student Support Intern and I predominantly help students get their heads around all of the changes happening in the world of student finance (not an easy thing, it’s a complicated world). Continue reading
Well it’s been quite some time since I last wrote a blog here but with various different commitments floating around I’ve been out of the office quite a bit recently. Today has been a relatively slow day, but that’s only to be expected as it’s the summer period and sixth formers are nervously waiting for their A-Level results. The Olympics have of course been a popular discussion around the office as everyone has been supporting the GB team through all their events.
Finally, summer seems to have arrived! I wish I had more opportunity to enjoy it!
I am sure you will have gathered that I have been loaned out to the Admissions department for the run up to clearing. And, on top of that, this week I am all alone as the rest of my team are out of the office for various reasons. So all change again! Continue reading
