Six more sleeps to go…..

It’s snowing on our blog, but sadly not outside, where did the wintry weather and hopes of a white Christmas go?

White Christmas

White Christmas

The University and Student Support Centre seem to get quieter each day and makes us all wish we were students again for the long holidays and time to catch up with friends and family. The Outreach Team all finish at different times for Christmas due to annual leave and toil. Nicola will be the only one on Friday so fingers crossed it goes quickly for her; perhaps she’ll get to go home early as a nice Christmas surprise?!!

It must be Christmas time…..

Frosty! Wrap up warm!

Frosty! Wrap up warm!

X factor has finished, it must be nearly Christmas! (I didn’t follow it this year…but do we think James Arthur will be number one?!) Luckily, this is not the only indication; the weather is frosty and everywhere decorated with lights and of course, not forgetting Emma’s last post which made me feel really festive!

I’m an Intern……Get me out of Here!

celeb

I’m an Intern, get me out of here!

It might seem quite an extreme statement, however, myself, Emma & Nicola have recently been trying to build up our skill base by “getting” ourselves “out” of the office and on to training modules or involved in other activities. Continue reading

National Student Money Week

Happy, Happy, Happy!

Ending the week on a high!

The Outreach Team have some exciting news about National Student Money Week (February 11th-15th)….The University of Lincoln has been chosen to be a showcase partner!

http://www.nasma.org.uk/Student-Money-Week

This is something we have been looking forward to and will be planning for from now until February. It is a really important week to dispel those Student Finance myths and ensure that students, parents, teachers, whoever have the correct information when considering or advising about University.

So put the dates in your diary and make sure you see if there is anything going on at a University near you and get involved!

Have a lovely weekend.

As easy as one….two….three….

Fresher’s week seems like a long time ago; we’re in to October with the shops beginning to prepare for Christmas already!

From the 17th September as all the new students started one of the most exciting weeks of  their University life,  the Outreach Team were busy all week helping the Student Administration department with enrolment of all students. The process this year was different with members of staff posted in twos all over the campus behind enrolment stands ready with two scanners to enrol people in less than a minute! Very high tech, easy as one, two, three…..we hoped!!!

Stress = Success?!

Can you turn stress into success? Apparently you can, if you improve your resilience to life’s challenges.

Work, stress, Home, stress…..

I went on Turn your stress into Success training yesterday afternoon and really enjoyed it. I definitely think this is an area of our lives that we all need to get better at tackling, so it was relevant to everyone. Continue reading

Alone in Admissions….

Summer…..about time!

Finally, summer seems to have arrived! I wish I had more opportunity to enjoy it!

I am sure you will have gathered that I have been loaned out to the Admissions department for the run up to clearing. And, on top of that, this week I am all alone as the rest of my team are out of the office for various reasons. So all change again! Continue reading
