Well, this is definitely long over due! Just over a month ago, Hannah and I went to Birmingham for a few days to attend some Higher Education events – we were there representing the University, informing prospective students about all of our courses, handing out prospectus’ and generally promoting ourselves!  This is what happened:

Well, this is my first day back in the office in what feels like AGES. I’ve just got back from Latitude Festival – I had an amazing few days seeing some fantastic live music, comedy, poetry and theatre. Four loads of washing later and I think I have just about got rid of the mud out of my clothes! So now it’s back to reality…

Hello!

It feels like forever since I’ve had chance to blog. I have been on annual leave and before that attending events. The time is flying past and I can’t believe it is into July! I do have some pictures from mine and Emma’s Birmingham events that I will endeavour to upload very soon along with a detailed account of our trip! Sufficed to say it was very enjoyable, tiring, lot of talking and smiling and driving!!!

Lots To Do

So it has been quite some time since I last wrote a blog here. This has mainly because due to events and days off I haven’t spent a long time in the office. So I suppose I best give an update on what I have been getting up to. I have been out and about attending events in Scunthorpe for Higher Education evening at colleges, as well as manning the Student Affairs stand (along with Emma) during the post-graduate open day. The first event was really quite busy, handing out dozens of prospectuses left, right and centre. It was quite an eye-opening to realise how much detailed knowledge about each course the marketing department know (Gareth from marketing attended this event with us), and how much we really are going to have learn when we start attending the larger HE and UCAS fairs across the country.

July next week? Already!!!

Fees and Funding

Hello,

Nicola and I are back in the office! If only briefly! The week promises more events, driving around the country and bringing the delights of Lincoln and the University to prospective students.

I have really enjoyed the last week, despite being tiring and long it was nice to take some responsibility and have the freedom and independence to utilise the new knowledge and skills we have gained over the last two months.

Today is busy and therefore my post will have to be brief, I hope that after the rush I can sit down and reflect on the past few days and write a much more comprehensive account of the events that we attended.

Hello!- I’m back! Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend and making the most of the beautiful June weather, apparently we have one more day of sunshine before the rain!

This is, again, only a fleeting post as I have just got in from an event and am out all week with Marketing and my team members attending external UCAS events and representing the University.

Hello from a very wet and rainy Lincoln!

Today has been pretty full on – lots of different things here and there, confirming that every day really is different in the Outreach Team. Creativity has been a big part of the day – we’ve been working on posters for the upcoming UCAS fair, promoting our next Open Day. This has allowed us to explore Photoshop in a bit more detail & really put our own spin on the advertisements, giving the prospective students something to remember. Our goal is to create 30 different posters, which when put into 3 sets will tell some form of story about university life & Lincoln. Choosing images, deciding on font & colour schemes was a task in itself and took us longer than expected! Students will need a reason to look at these posters & that’s why they need to be just right. We have until the end of next week, so with the Jubilee celebrations in between, we are cracking on with determination!

Hello blogging world, it’s me again (Nicola).

This is turning out to be quite a busy week for us interns, the days are running along pretty quickly.

Matt mentioned in yesterday’s blog that we attended the Introduction to Internships at The University of Lincoln (quite a mouthful). I found it to be an incredibly useful and informative day. At first I wasn’t sure if I would be catered for (not sure if that’s the right way of putting it, but I’m sticking with it). What I mean by that is I thought the day would be aimed at students who have just graduated and started their first job (post-university) as an intern. However that wasn’t the case and once we had taken part in a bit of intern speed dating (really, that happened) we all, including the trainers, got to know everyone’s individual story.
